On March 8th, 2017 in the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, took place meeting with the newly nominated Minister of Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Romania, Mr. Alexandru Petrescu.
The meeting was organized by the INC SA – company listed on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Authorised Advisor on the AeRO market operated by the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and Carpathia Capital SA – VC/PE fund operating in Romania, listed on the AeRO market. Co-organizer of the meeting was also the newly established Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Indystry, represented by Mrs. Eryka Gizińska, Vice-president of the chamber.
The meeting was adressed to entrepreneurs interested in developing trade relations and direct investments in Romania. The event was an opportunity for dialogue between the business community and representatives of the Romanian government and economic departments of the Romanian Embassy in Warsaw, who were also present at the meeting.
During the opening presentation, Minister Petrescu underlined the strategic importance of the Polish-Romanian bilateral economic partnership, which trace Romania wants to follow searching for optimal solutions to improve their business environment.
“When looking for solution of a problem, I always ask myself – how the Poles did it”? – said Minister Petrescu.
Mr. Petrescu said that as a newly nominated Minister of Economy, he is aware of the need of pragmatic solutions for the entrepreneurs and foreign investors, which actually improve the business environment in Romania.
The Romanian economy is becoming the European economic tiger. Employment costs are about 1/5 of the EU average, the labor market has a well-educated and highly rated IT employees. Romania has implemented far-reaching tax reform, which has a hudge positive impact to the economic development of the country.
The Romanian Ambassador, Mr. Ovidiu Dranga underlined that both Poland and Romania are the countries of Euro-Atlantic orientation, which forces even closer economic partnership and translates directly to security issues of these states.
President of the INC SA has presented to the participants the INC capital group, the business opportunities discovered by the company in Romania, and underlined the importance of the bilateral partnership between the two countries.
Mr. Piotr Białowąs, President of the Carpathia Capital SA presented the motives of entering the Romanian market and the experience of activity on this market. Carpathia Capital is the first Polish company listed on the AeRO market operated by the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The company invested in innovative IT company – Bittnet Systems, the market leader in IT trainings in Romania. Carpathia Capital portfolio company has been awarded in the “CEE Capital Markets Awards” as the “Debut of the Year for alternative markets.”
The meeting was a unique opportunity to exchange of insights and experiences in the wider Polish-Romanian cooperation, and also became a pretext for discussion on the future of economic relations between the countries.
